Flame of the WestNope. Hijacking airplanes and crashing them into buildings is a modern invention. Terrorism is centuries - millennia even - old. When William Wallace burned English soldiers alive in their hall, that was terrorism, and the motive was freeing Scotland from the regime Edward I of England. Not that the soldiers' wives and children noticed or cared.

Maybe I over-simplified that, but my point of "poverty and the uneven distribution of wealth in capitalism nurtures terrorism" remains intact.
But those things have always been around. Terrorism is a modern invention.
