It's not besides the point. If the Arabs are looking back on some lost 'golden age' why are they blaming the West, which had nothing to do with them losing it?
Seriously, how woould you feel if you saw arab forces and bases in your own country? How would you feel if your gowernment was in the Jordanian backpocket?
The question is not about who defeated them. The question is about being proud and being humiliated at the same time.
