This is incorrect. They don't believe any of that number are necessarily descended from the 12 tribes of Israel, which incidentally, shows that they do not take everything in Revelation literally. And it isn't complicated at all. The verse says the Lamb is on Mount Zion and there are 144,000 with him. The following verses explain that they are bought with the blood of the Lamb. Like I said, pre-1945, and descended from one of the 12 tribes of israel. Very complicated. There's even a bit more to that. Just their interpretation of some comment in Revelation about the 144,000.
