Typically,monarchies cost no more than presidencies... in the British situation,when you add up the two sides of the equation(Royal revenue handed to Treasury and reverse) you find that the Government actually leeches a huge profit off the Monarch and family,though the "our taxes pay to keep them in luxury!" whiners screw their eyes tight very shut at this.
