TamimThere were big Jewish communities in various Arabic countries until the creation of Israel, when most of them emigrated there. The whole Jewish community in Yemen, some 60,000 people, were transfrred to Israel by air, the so-called "Operation Magic Carpet". Morocco and Tunisia still have sizable Jewish communitits - I believe the number of Moroccan Jews is somethign like 120,000, Those Jews who still live in Arabic countries are (with the exception of those in Tunisia) either rather badly terated, as in Morocco, or in direct peril of death. Iraq and Syria have both hanged groups of Jews as "spies". The Israeli Arabs are fairly decently treated, but the Arabs in the occupied territories are treated like shit. What Israel is doing there now simply cannot be excused on any grounds. One must recognize that both sides are behaving badly, and that the Palestinians are entitled to a country of their own simply because they have a right to their own land; it is not a prize to be awarded them at some future, unspecified time for good behaviour as defined by Ariel Sharon. Anyway, Israel is still confiscating land on the West Bank and building new Jewish settlements there, which shows what their ambitions for the area are. Establishing isolated Bantustans for the Palestinians is not good enugh.
Bit difficult considering that there is no significant Jewish minority in any Arab country (except Palestine). That is because the Jews were succesful in taking areas inhabited by Arabs and not the otherway around.
For the same reason you will not find an Arab country massacering Jews in refugee camps after having driven them from their homes. For the same reason you will not find an Arab country under which rule there are Jews living without any civil rights (Like the right to go to a shop). In most Arab countries where there still are Jews, the Jews have very little in the way of civil rights. Though of course there is nothing like the West Bank and Gaza anywhere.
