?jevind L?ngAgree. But nationalism and religious fanatics often grow on the seed of material causes. Such as poverty or oppression.
Morgil, you insist on believing that all actions have material causes. But in fact, people are capable of killing for religious or nationalist or ideological causes.
Not to say that you are wrong about Kuwait; but rescuing the Kuwaitis from that blood-stained megalomaniac in Bagdad was a good thing to do. That it also served America's best interests is an additional case in its favour; it does not mysteriously nullify ther fact that the Kuwaitis were liberated.Admitted. But the question is whether that "liberation" aspect alone would have been enough. If that was the cause, leaving Saddam in power and letting him bash down the Kurds in northern Iraq would have been highly illogical.
