The contortions are all yours. What I said about Wagner specifically condemned his anti-semitism but distinguished it from that of the Nazis. If only you could do that with IRA anti-semitism, eh?

I should have thought it was more Pro-Palestinian sentiment than anti-Semitism on the IRA's part.

The more I read about the people who comprise the Israeli State apparatus, the more I realise that innocents are everywhere in very short supply. That's not intended as a defence of the bloodthirsty fuckheads in Hamas and the like. *Both* sides need to be willing to talk.

OTOH I must say I've heard just about enough justifications for extraordinary Israeli behaviour [AKA limited Palestinian genocide] in the news recently to last me a lifetime.

The Israelis claim statehood, and Israel acts like a state, bringing overwhelming force to bear and weeping false tears for any innocent blood shed, claiming it was done in the national interest. You don't see any of them with the conviction and bottle to go into Arafat's compound and do a suicide bomb run on him, do you? No you fucking well don't.

The Israeli's are on easy street, kept there by previous and current American support. The only reason America has allowed the current U.N. resolution against Israel to proceed AFAICS is because America would lose all credibility in its war against terrorism.

Ironic isn't it that the only western country to have been censured by the U.N. for supporting terrorist activities was the United States of America, for IIRC CIA involvement in the Nicaraguan fiasco in - was it - 1984?

And now there's open talk of the British Secret Service aiding protestant paramilitaries in Northern Ireland during the 80's and 90's and helping in the murder of solicitors acting within the law defending members of the IRA by passing on intelligence.

And America and Britain are gweat fwends - aren't they wonderful?!
