RavenThat's true. A hierarchy of some sort greatly encourages abusing. But it's strenghtened even more if there is also a kind of ideology behind it that does not allow people to live a "normal" sexual life. Exactly like the Catholic (priests) you quoted. I just don't know if it's this way or the other way round: does their celibacy make them unsatisfied, leading to sexual abusing, or is it that lifestyle that attracts people who are already, erm, prone to it?
--- those sexual abusers are *everywhere*. Don't feel so glum because it happens to be the Catholics these days. Whenever there is a hierarchy of some sort, where people have power over people, some will abuse that power.
