I've often wondered what the republicans in Great Britain would do if they did manage to gain power and turn the United Kingdom into a republic. Beyond the extraordinarily complex task of remaking the organic laws of the country, there is the issue of what to do with the lands of the former royals such as the Queen and Prince Charles. As I see it, they can either nationalize (read steal) these peoples' legally rightful estates, or they would have to compensate them.

Of course, they could follow the tried and true method used by most republicans in the last century and just simply run them out of the country or shoot them.
