Of course, and that is the problem. The Palestinians are paying for some extremely bad decisions by their leaders and other leaders in the Arab world.

Undoubtedly. However, right *now* its Israel who is preventing the peace.

I doubt that highly. Arafat has refused to reign in terrorists. He's been caught playing a double game. Sharon's a warrior, but from what I see he's losing the support of the Israeli people. However, that is not good news for Palestinians, because Netanyahu appears to be the only credible successor, and he certainly has no like for Arafat.

If Israel does pull out of Palestinian areas, then who guarantees Palestinian terrorists won't try to tip the situation again? And if they do, will they same crowd of anti-Israelis scream when Israel moves to root out the terrorists?

The reason I bring up the attempted Arab invasions is because it is the Arabs that have created the atmosphere of paranoia in Israel. Palestinian suicide bombers only adds to this, and Arafat either can't or won't stop it.
