That is the goal of any form of government; monarchy, democracy, autocracy, theocracy, etc.

I have a bridge for sale.

They're high ideals, and I'll never fault them. With the possible exception of the Declaration of Independence, they are the finest expressions of democratic principles in human history.

All I'm saying is that a republic will not deliver panacea. Too many monarchies were overthrown in the Twentieth century only to be replaced by unstable or tyrannical governments. Any substantial change in government must be taken carefully, and only after consideration of the goals of the nation. In the case of the Thirteen Colonies, there were stated goals, and sufficiently idealistic and practical people to bring about a republic that didn't immediately begin to collapse into chaos, impotence or tyranny.
