My info came from 3 baptised witnessesand one Elder, and, as a child, I remember having to study a 400 page book that dealt directly with the scriptures in Revelation. And, at the time, they said the 12 Tribes of Israel in a very literal interpretation of the passage. Then again, they may have yet another "new understanding" of the scripture, which seems to occur at an alarming rate. A friend's mother who was baptized in the mid 50's didn't talk to said friend for a good 25 years because the friend got pregnant before she was married and was disfellowshipped. According to the rules at the time, if such an incedent occured, no one who was baptised was allowed to associate with someone who was disfellowshipped, not even the person's parents. Now, however, the person's family, even if they are baptized, are allowed to associate with the disfellowshipped person.SylverJames Bell
Like I said, pre-1945, and descended from one of the 12 tribes of israel. Very complicated. There's even a bit more to that. Just their interpretation of some comment in Revelation about the 144,000.
This is incorrect. They don't believe any of that number are necessarily descended from the 12 tribes of Israel, which incidentally, shows that they do not take everything in Revelation literally. And it isn't complicated at all. The verse says the Lamb is on Mount Zion and there are 144,000 with him. The following verses explain that they are bought with the blood of the Lamb. Where's the complicated part?
