And as far as the pride and patriotism, I find this "uberpatriotism" extremely frightening, and a sign of people that are willing to blindly follow politicians to any end. I find the mob mentality of my countrymen despicable.

Guess what? We were the same way during World War II, as were most Western nations. You would've hated it. War causes people to close ranks.

That's why no country's leader is reluctant against a war then and now, especially when the ranks behind him are getting frightfully thin.

Well, this is of course also true for Clinton and Iraq during Monicagate. One thing we can probably agree on. I really did ROTFL during Wag The Dog.

And yes, I still consider WWII a different thing than the situation today.
