But for me, the basic question is a different one: how did America, which is half a planet away from Palestine / Iraq / Arabia, manage to anger all these people so that they dance when Americans die? That's a question I would have liked to hear from America. A little meditation on their own role in this area. Instead of "revenge" platitudes.
USA's real crime in Muslim Fundie eyes is that it stands for secularism: atheism. "immorality", contraceptives, women not subjected to men.
As for the Palestinians, they perceive America as supporting Israel whatever happens. Even so, cheering at the news of an outrage like the attack on the WTC is the reaction of barbarians. That is true from the part of the cheering being directed at the death of thousand innocent civilians. But I believe many were just happy to see America for once humiliated as it has done to so many others, which in itself is not a sin.
Moreover, before 9/11 American public opinion was becoming notiecably impatient with the Israelis. The Palestinians are *so* good at shooting themselves in the foot.Aye, that is true. Yet I wonder if public opinnion has any affect on American policies in Israel/Palestine question...
Also, you can't really expect America to remain passive after an outrage like 11/9. No country would do that.Well, everyone seems to be expecting Palestineans to remain passive after the recent outrage.
