John EvansYou could be right John, I don't recall exactly. There were a lot of ifs and buts about those killings. I *do* recall wondering at the time why such a vicious assult, almost an execution, was caried out on two Garda? by armed raiders who were supposedly IRA men. Certainly it wouldn't have been seen at that time to be IRA policy to go around killing Garda?, when there was no need to do so.

I could have sworn they denied that the murderers of Garda McCabe were on active service, until it became obvious otherwise?
