They've done worse there just after the revolution. A lot of people were sentenced to death under the Shari'a in those days. If the condemned person was a woman who was a maiden, she was forced to have a series of 'muta' marriages (a type of temporary marriage permitted by some schools of Islamic law) with a series of men, so that she would not die a maiden.

How about the new Nigerian laws, where a woman can be raped, get pregnant, and then SHE is the one sentenced to death for adultery?
