You had the roughly pear-shaped geoid in mind? Ie. a sphere, flattened somewhat at the equator by the Earth's spin into a hardly perceptible oblate-shape, and further modified into something thicker below the equator than above [1] when you get into the details?GraemeAll those scientists think the earth is round -- but it could be flat!
Actually, it's not, and they don't. I could explain that statement, but it would be so boring to do so. I think I'll see first if anyone knows what I mean by it.
