Oje may be interesting the statistics for British security services during the early years of the Troubles:
1969: killed 10 people, all 10 civilians 1970: killed 5 people, all 5 civilians 1971: killed 45 people, 36 civilians 1972: killed 86 people, 44 civilians 1973: killed 32 people, 14 civilians 1974: killed 19 people, 8 civilians.
In other words, over this period (i.e. prior to the IRA ceasefire), the British security services killed 197 people of which 117 or nealy 60% were civilians.
