So, though I am a Monarchist, I'm not allergic to the notion of republics. I think that a well-constructed republic will succeed as well as a well-constructed constitutional monarchy. It is when both types of government are taken to absurd extremes, such as some of the Arab kingdoms and republics like China or the Soviet Union, that problems arise.
