No...we make it all back on Tourism from people who don't have a Monarchy coming to see ours..

The gate receipts on Buckingham Palace compensate for (allegedly) the wealthiest individual in the UK?

paulh
Its part of the national interest people have in the UK... its airfares, hotel bills, souvenirs, food ....The Royals are just part of that. I'm not sure an accountants view is neccessarily valid when it comes to heritage....or else we'd tear down all those old scabby castles and turn them into a nice block of flats.

If you want heritage, shoot 'em and stuff 'em for display, I say.
