Flame of the WestThat is indeed what I was saying. And America's judicious use of economic and military power to disposess the Taliban, rather than just "nuking them till they glowed, then shooting them in the dark!" -- as many anti-Americans nastily assumed would be the natural response -- has made that attempt at humiliation even harder to stick.
That said, it's interesting that the use of the word to describe Sept. 11 comes mostly from America's enemies. It sounds like wish-fulfilment - they *want* America to have been humiliated. Unfortunately for them, we didn't play along. I'm sure this just made them angrier. So be it.
