Bagronk the Happy OrcThey could show it was fresh footage. Moreover, Cavalho was tracked down and confessed. He apologized and claimed that he had heard the story from one of his professors.
Hmm, maybe. I also heard the recycled-from-gulf-war-story, but I was busy with moving last October [1] and didn't have too much time to follow the news, so I didn't get the whole Marcio Cavalho thing. Can you please tell me how they proved that story wrong?
But for me, the basic question is a different one: how did America, which is half a planet away from Palestine / Iraq / Arabia, manage to anger all these people so that they dance when Americans die? That's a question I would have liked to hear from America. A little meditation on their own role in this area. Instead of "revenge" platitudes.USA's real crime in Muslim Fundie eyes is that it stands for secularism: atheism. "immorality", contraceptives, women not subjected to men. As for the Palestinians, they perceive America as supporting Israel whatever happens. Even so, cheering at the news of an outrage like the attack on the WTC is the reaction of barbarians. Moreover, before 9/11 American public opinion was becoming notiecably impatient with the Israelis. The Palestinians are *so* good at shooting themselves in the foot. Also, you can't really expect America to remain passive after an outrage like 11/9. No country would do that.
