It's obvious I have narrower definition of terrorism than you. Our main difference in appriach appears to be that you include certain elements of 'just war' into your definition of terrorism whereas I keep the two ideas pretty much separate. I don't know that there's anything inherently wrong with either approach, but I'm just trying to identify our differences.

Thus, now understand why you consider the IRA as a terrorist group. And you probably have a pretty good idea why I do not consider them a terrorist group (although I do think they were fighting an unjust war after they ended their ceasefire in January 1975)
