Russ is no more a fundamentalist than I am, so I'll answer: they do not endorse the nut cases, but neither do they shed crocodile tears for the abortionists, whom the fundamentalists regard as hired murderers.
I regard the death penalty as legalized murder and executioners as hired killers. Would that entitle me to kill executioners? No. Would it justify my expressing sympathy (open or covert) for anyone killing executioners? No.
