analogy was incorrect: Palestians are like Germans during the war.

(We've discussed this very point before, with regards to Irish resistance ;)

Are you referring to one of the conditions the RC Church has for a "just war", that there must be a realistic likelihood of victory? (though cynics might say this merely excuses the Church from having to support the underdog - and likely loser - no matter how morally superior their cause may be).
