The Palestineans have a very genuine reson to dislike USA, the major supporter of Israel, who has humiliated them endlessly in numerous ways (regardless of the reasons). When they see the symbols of the might of the America thrumbling down, it is quite natural that their first reaction is joy over the humiliation of their enemy. Undoubtedly there were also those extremeists who are always shouting "death to Americans" cheering, but why would your view about *them* change because of that? But 'cheering' = 'joy of innocent civilians dying' is an unpleasant simplification aimed to build up another nasty simplification: 'They don't like us' = 'They're evil'...

That is true from the part of the cheering being directed at the death of thousand innocent civilians. But I believe many were just happy to see America for once humiliated as it has done to so many others, which in itself is not a sin.
You weren't paying attention. We weren't humiliated, we were injured. And the Palestinians were happy to see us die. Stop making absurd excuses for them.
