Just corrected the header slightly - she wasn't just Queen Mum for England you know, in the same way as her daughter is Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, not just England.

I never cease to be amazed by how few British people actually know the

name

of their country. Do you want to try another guess at naming the

country

of

which England and Scotland are parts? 10 obscuro points to a non-Briton who can do so.

Jay Random
I take it it isn't the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, then?

We have a winner! Seems many scots insist on including the whole of Britain (not just

England)

in the UK but forget that NI is also a part.

No, we don't *forget* - we know that *some* N Irish don't want to be British, and some do - so until we know which way the Irish person in question feels about the question, we leave it up to them to claim or not claim their "Britishness".

*I* am Scottish and British - I leave it to the various Northern Irish to speak for themselves.
