Who gets to determine what Christianity is about?
Christ?
ACJette made a good point in a sardonic way, though. I'm not a Christian myself -- closest to the Quakers, mostly -- but it seems to me that, put simply, anyone who accepts, believes and tries to follow the basic teachings of Christ as recorded by the New Testament is a Christian. By the same token anyone who goes against them directly isn't, even if they do it in the name of Christ. Okay, that lets out a lot of people, but that's their lookout. Although of course the word "tries" is the important one; it's always been a lot easier to be Christian and forbearing in civilized times and places, then when you're confronting hordes of howling barbarians -- and still more so fellow "Christians"!
Well somebody better go ask him, because we've got over a billion people running around claiming their Christians, and I think it's important that we found it which ones are and which ones aren't.
