OK, so if a military plane drops a bomb on a target at noon crowded with civilians, it is not terrorism (although it may be something else)

Not if theres some sort of war going on its not...

group or not.

paulh
And I say its not. It merely a sample of whether they are efficient terrorists or not.

David Flood
Which brings us neatly back to "they're terrorists because they're terrorists".

Quite possibly so.... I don't have verifiable scientific litmus test that will prove the point one way or another...

Russ
Rather I have defined terrorist (broadly) as targeting civilians. See below.

thats part of it..luckily the British Army has rarely ever done that. Or

Have you, perchance, ever heard of the British Army's "Force Research Unit"? (I believe it's now going under a new name)

Amazing... the British Government has secrets? Naturally it must be something evil. Every good paranoid knows thats secret government things equals AlienSpaceships/Human Experiments gone horribly wrong etc....

Really....so providing information that then is used to target Republican Activists is the same as " they've ever been ordered to just go out and shoot any old person who wanders by?". Try and keep your responses pertinent. I don't actually approve of them providing information to Loyalist Paramilitaries to then use to shoot Targets...I'd be happy if they went out and shot them themselves. But either way its not what I said, is it?

All very sad... but as proof that the BA goes around and shoots Catholics at random it lacks something. Like the BA doing the shooting and the element of the word random. It does have Catholics tho...

Again I fail to the relevance to my statement..

Ditto

http://www.sbpost.ie/story.jsp?story=WCContent;id-15730

Ditto.

They're possibly all issues in their own right. But they do not prove, as per my statement, that the BA were ordered to go around shooting Catholics at random.

Or read any account of the BA's other activities in Ireland down through the centuries?

So how far back does one go? Perhaps I can define Irish pirate raids on the British mainland as a sample of terrorist actions. I
