Flame of the WestI agre about that. Probably, UN troops would have to be stationed in the Palestinian state for a number of years to ensure that both sides behave themselves, just as in Bosnia or Kosovo.
I hadn't heard that. If it's true, it's a good offer that the US ought to get behind. Of course, it's less than the Israelis want, but that's how you get an agreement between two sides. Of course, the Israelis would have to insist on the West Bank being demilitarized, given the map of pre-1967 Israel.
PS - don't expect Likud to take it. Any peace process is wasted with them in power. Probably the next gov't will be Labour, but can things hold out that long?Here's hoping. [SIGH]
