Flame of the WestGiven the negative feelings I at least connect with religious fundamentalism I tend to define it as those who are narrow-minded and use other words (e.g. devout) to describe others with a strong belief and literal interpretation of their religious scriptures.

Yes, I guess so :) I'll at least admit to having an attitude problem towards people who will not even attempt to look at things both ways ;-) - whether that's to be called bigotry is a decision I'd better leave to others ;-)
It's OK to dislike narrow-minded people. The bigotry part is when you assume that Christian fundamentalists in general are narrow-minded.
