Is not in the Arab world.

Hrrrm, well it is not in the 'League of Arab States', but it is at the least 'on the borders of the Arab world' - both geographically and culturally.

But it is not peopled by ethnic Arabs, the people do not speak Arabic, and they do not consider themselves Arabs either. Additionally it is not Arabic geographically and is often considered more European than Arabic (well, by some). In fact if the Greeks had maintained control instead of losing to the Turks we wouldn't even question its Europeanality today I don't think..

IT is a secular state with a large muslim majority.
