That's false. The Israelis were not doing *anything* to the Palestinians until Arafat rejected the peace offer of Barak and then ordered the intifadah and suicide bombings to begin again.Anyway...what civilians are being brutalized? The same civilians, a vast majority of which, support and condone suicide bombers?Morgil Blackhope
Only because they are being brutalized.
And why did the Israeli's occupy the West Bank and Gaza in 1967? Because Israel was being *attacked* from there. Should they just have continued to allow themselves to be attacked from those areas forever? The Palestinians could have had a state 54 years ago. But no theyattacked. They could have had a state anytime between 1948 and 1967 had Egypt andJordanseen fit to give them the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Not only didn'tthey doso, they attacked ISrael instead. They could have had a state when Prime Minister Barak offered one to them a few years ago. But no, they wouldratherkill Israeli civilians. The Palestinians have yet to show they have joinedthecivilized world. What could have been a Palestinian state is now asmoulderingruin because Arafat refused to make peace with Barak and the Palestinainpeopleagreed with Arafat. Plain and simple. Not really. Plain and simple would be that Israel is occupying lands that belong to somebody else. If that causes trouble, the responsiblity for that belongs to Israel.
International law and treaty? You mean the same international law that everyone ignored and that no one sought to defend in 1948? It's funny how the Arabs not embrace the same UN resolutions that they abrogaed before. How many times was Israel supposed to be attacked? 5? 10? 20? At whatpointdoes Israel have a right to say, 'Enough'. At what point are the justifiedinlooking out for their own security first? According to those who thinklikeyou, apparently the answer is never. How do you think it stops Israel from being attacked that they give legitimate reason for it by breaking every international law and treaty there is?
