Mike Scott RohanThanx for the reply. As for the above, I can only say that one can't really know what it's like having your country attacked like that, until it happens. I have long believed that Americans were too nonchalant about the dangers of terrorism, but I was not prepared for the emotions triggered in me by Sept. 11. It was indeed a wake-up call for us, and I hope we can keep our attention focused (I'm sure you've noticed that we have rather a short attention span).
I'd add only that even the best-disposed Europeans might occasionally get a little impatient with America suddenly discovering the realities of terrorism, which we have had to live with all our adult lives -- from a variety of sources, and endangering our friends and families and ourselves directly.
