According to press reports yesterday, Israel provided some fairly substantial proof (obtained during the recent fighting) to Powell and the Bush administration that Arafat is up to his armpits in terrorism. I'd be curious to see where that goes.
Face it, there won't be peace until the Palestinians start moving back to a political process. They've sold their souls to the likes of Hamas, and I think they actually believe that the rest of the Arab world is prepared to do more than stamp their feet when US officials drop by. The pseudo-support from the Europeans only makes this worse.
