PraderaDoes that explain why the Isaeli government keeps stealing land from Palestinians in order to found new Jewish settlements on them? The pace has *increased* since Sharon became PM.
Actually, the main reason Israelis insists on keeping West Bank is the strategical advantage this gives them. It's the '12 km' principle - without West Bank, Syrian tanks can get across Israel in 12 km from the border to the sea. That's what I heard, at least.

Anyway, you miss the point that the West Bank and Gaza do not belong to Israel and that it is illegal for them to keep them occupied.
The problem is - they _won_ it in regular war, the war that wasn't even their fault, and in which they were the defensive side. So I don't know about illegality of that, at least from Israel's POV.
That they get peace with the Arabs. With the US protecting them, that should be fairly easy. At any rate, it would not be any harder than now, when they leave the Palstinians no hope at all. In fact, by a recent survey, two thirds of all Israelis share my opinion.?jevind L?ngPradera
Israel wants peace? Then let them leave the West Bank and Gaza. That
*is*?jevind L?ngPradera
the first step.
If that's just the first step, what's the second?
