RussI wasn't trying to defend sending planes into buildings, was I? The question was about why there's resentment againts USA in the Arab world. Somebody (?jevind) suggested that it was because USA was such an "atheist" and "immoral" country. I objected. I don't think that's the basic reason for the resentment felt towards USA in the Arab or even in the Muslim world in general. (I normally don't like to put all the Muslim world in one basket as an Arab oil sheikh and an Malesian football manufacturer doesn't have very much incommon)
Ask the Germans, British, Italians, Japanese, Koreans, etc. They all manage to deal with it without hijacking planes and sending them into buildings.
