ParisGood point. Many people on this NG talk about "America", usually referring to either the American people collectively or to the government of the United States. I remember someone said they like Americans but not America. It occurred to me that this person probably had never seen America and might well have liked it if he had. It's rather a pleasant place for the most part.
Further to this discussion, it would be interesting to know what it means exactly that "America" has or has not been humiliated. As far as I know, America is non-sentient geographical and/or political entity.
