Yes, as I said, Americans were *not* humbled. You're agreeing with me.Flame of the WestJeff George
Well, it's interesting to know that there are Americans on your planet too. But here on Earth, we Americans were not "humbled", but rather moved to righteous anger. Our actions since have made me quite proud of my country, for the first time in a while. And guess what? All the Americans I know were aware even before Sept. 11 that we were not invulnerable. Were you?
Really? Hm, you wouldn't have known about the "humble" part by listening to Americans speak.
I don't believe you for a moment when you say that American "humility" (do Americans even know that word?) existed before the World Trade Center was destroyed.Where did I say that? I said we never thought we were invulnerable. That's not the same thing as humility.
It was a wake-up call that even the American government cannot protect its people, though most Americans before that would have thought that they were invulnerable. On my planet, we've had Russian missiles aimed at our cities for decades. I doubt many Americans believed that we were safe all that time. If we were ever invulnerable, we certainly haven't been since the late 1940's. Do you think we were unaware of that?
