Floyd L. DavidsonWell, since you brought it up, what is the "best in class" on Linux? I guess the class, in this case, would be "home-made photo editors", since that's pretty much what's written for Linux. But even Irfanview, arguably the best of the home-made editors, isn't available on Linux, IIRC.

Actually it does. Adobe does not support Linux though. That's a very different thing.
And of course if you think Adobe is the "best in class", your conclusion will be different from someone who doesn't see it that way.
