he has never tried any of the other ways. he has never used photoshop or lightroom, so he has no way of actually knowing if his way is better or not.
Just as you have never developed any skill with the way he works. Neither of you really know what the other is talking about.
i know quite well what he's talking about.
i've been using unix in one way or another for roughly 30 years and have written scripts and custom tools too. before that was dec equipment, and i've even booted systems from front panel switches.--
fortunately, technology has come a long, long way in that time and the primitive methods that were once a requirement are now just a distant memory.
there are far easier ways to do things now.
