all macs that run os x have a command line and prior to that, it could be added if desired.
Way before OSX.
a/ux came out in 1987 and mpw was around the same time. just how much before do you want to go?
and as i said, a command line was not needed.You haven't the faintest idea of what my needs were back in those days. Almost nothing useful was available in package form, not even for the IBM PC. We had to write much of our own stuff. --
you only think you needed it because you don't know any different.
