Gary: The following was what Google presented at their IO conference. It's deffinately an " Apple is about the shake things up again so here is our versions of what we think they will be doing." list.Nothing innovative, nothing new just versions of whats rumoured or on sale from Apple.Sandman
so you're taking google's announced projects as copies of rumored apple devices? nice.
That's the point, ed. There are rumors of products from Apple, so competing companies release products in these categories. Whether or not it's due soley to these rumors is anyone's guess, but the irony is rather telling.
In short, Apple turned the mobile device market upside down twice with the iPhone and the iPad, so it's only logical to assume that competing companies try their hardest to predict where such a thing might happen again.GaryedSandman
Gary: 1. The rumours have been strong regarding the next Apple tv possibly being powerful enough to be open to Gaming. Look out here comes Google: http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/06/googles-getting-its-own-android-powered-game-consoles/
google announcing a product for which apple has no competition is google copying apple! wow, neat!
Talk about missing the point. Google got burnt really REALLY bad with Google TV so there is no reason to assume they would pursue this market anytime soon unless they felt there was a way to do it "right". The rumors of an Apple product in this market space is more than likely to have sped things up internally at Google. Whether or not Google gets it "right" this time is, well, at least looking at history - not bloodly likely.edSandman
Gary: 2. Apple tv has been a hot topic for a while now with something special on the way. Look out here comes Google: http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/06/androidtv-googles-bajillionth-attempt-to-take-over-your-living-room-updating/
as even the url shows, this isn't google's first time at this rodeo.
GaryGoogle has been involved in a seld driving car project but this year they decide to announce a system for any car that follows in the footsteps of CAR PLAY……..suprise?
See above.GaryedSandman
Gary: 3. Apple's Carplay was released not so long ago as a new project. Look out here comes Google: http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/06/android-auto-turns-your-dashboard-into-an-android-device/
google getting involved in cars was known before carplay was announced.
No it wasn't. Android Auto is part of the Open Automotive Alliance, which was announced on January 6, 2014, iOS in the car was announced in June 10, 2013, a year ago.
No No No Ed, show me where google had this system out long before Apple's health / healthkit??ed
Gary: 4. Every one is used to Apple's release schedules for stuff, stops them becoming messy like Samsung. Look out here comes Google: http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/06/googles-moving-toward-more-of-an-apple-like-release-schedule/Gary5. The rumours have been around for about a year and the recent release of Apple's Health was a indication of a new focus. Look out here comes Google: http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/06/google-wants-to-keep-track-of-your-vitals-with-google-fit/Sandman
samsung has been playing here for several years, so if anything, google is copying it's partner.
Samsung has an Android API for health monitoring?
Everyone all of the sudden was working on a watch wearable after the first rumours of an iwatch………shocker ED.GaryedSandman
Gary: 6. Apple's Iwatch.....that never ending rumour of excitement and anticipation. Will it appear this year? Look out here comes Google: http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/06/you-can-pre-order-the-first-android-wear-devices-today/
google announcing a product for which apple has no competition is google copying apple! wow, neat!
Again, missing the point.
