Maybe so, but the wiki sets a guideline as to what constitutes a phablet. But then try holding an ipad up to your ear and see how silly it looks compared to more phone sized dimensions in form fctor... ---/ *Wiki* set a guideline? You don't know how the whole Wikipedia thing works do you?

Harry Mudd the Anti-Fanboy
OK, so wiki didn't >set< the guideline, but it did republish a guideline....

Alan Baker
And it's a GUIDEline.

Harry Mudd the Anti-Fanboy
The purpose of which is to set a standard.

Alan Baker
No.

It is DESCRIPTIVE, not PRESCRIPTIVE.

Harry Mudd the Anti-Fanboy
How does the note 8 or ipad mini fit that standard?

Alan Baker
I don't have to on two counts.

1. It sets TYPICAL dimensions which means that items outside of that range can still be part of the set.

2. It isn't a standard, it's a description.

Harry Mudd the Anti-Fanboy
I suppose if you want to call them 'fat phablets', that's fine. But they aren't standard phablets....

Alan Baker
And straight back to the "no true Scotsman"!~

Harry Mudd the Anti-Fanboy
You've got "No scotsman" stuck on your brain, donchya? so what is 'standard' about an ipad mini or note 8 as a phablet?

Alan Baker
"standard"? Is this yet another goalpost drag, Fanboy?

BTW, you DO realize that your Wikipedia cite lists a phablet with a screen larger than the range you want to make so important, right?

"Phablets typically have screens that measure (diagonally) between 5.01 and 6.9 inches"

" • 2011 Dell Streak 7 (7.0" screen)"

So you're now going to have to argue... ...what?

Face it: you made a fallacious argument.

Harry Mudd the Anti-Fanboy
And the Dell streak died on the vine, too...

How does that change the fact that your supposedly authoritative cite contradicts your interpretation of its content?
