I suppose I'll read the books one of these says. Although I came out

Princess Buttercup's Castle of Mayhem
of

C'Pi
Harry Potter with a greater desire to read those books.

That's my take as well. In fact, I was hoping that LOTR would instill the same kind of excitement that Harry Potter did to read the books.

C'Pi
I'm reading the first book now, but I'm wondering whether I should read

Princess Buttercup's Castle of Mayhem
the

C'Pi
second book or not. I really want to read the second book, but I wonder

Princess Buttercup's Castle of Mayhem
if

C'Pi
I should wait till the 2nd movie comes out so it won't be spoiled.

IMO if you read the other two books, you'll see things mentioned in them that appeared in the movie and that's when those things start to make sense. I read them years ago but after my first viewing I had to read them again and it's been much more entertaining [and addicting] for me on the second reading. You also have to remember that TTT won't be exactly like the book word by word and it'll have some things changed, I'm sure.

They'll have to change the structure, for sure. The way Tolkien wrote it, the first half covers the remains of the Fellowship chasing after Merry and Pippin, and the second half covers Frodo and Sam. I think Jackson's going to interweave the two plotlines, so the audience doesn't spend the first hour and a half wondering where Frodo is.

Personally, I can't wait to see the Ents. That's gonna be cool.

Chris Blaise
It didn't.

Weird huh? I wanted to read the 2nd Harry Potter book to know what

Princess Buttercup's Castle of Mayhem
happens

C'Pi
next, but I don't really care what happens next in LOTR.

I wanted to read the second HP book after I finished the first one but then I started reading something else and just didn't bother buying it. People tell me they're good books.

Haven't read any HP yet. I suppose I might, someday, but the to-read piles are big enough already.
