Harry Potter with a greater desire to read those books.
That's my take as well. In fact, I was hoping that LOTR would instill the same kind of excitement that Harry Potter did to read the books.
I'm reading the first book now, but I'm wondering whether I should read
theC'PiPrincess Buttercup's Castle of Mayhem
second book or not. I really want to read the second book, but I wonder

I should wait till the 2nd movie comes out so it won't be spoiled.
IMO if you read the other two books, you'll see things mentioned in them that appeared in the movie and that's when those things start to make
I read them years ago but after my first viewing I had to read them again and it's been much more entertaining [and addicting] for me on the second reading. You also have to remember that TTT won't be exactly like the book word by word and it'll have some things changed, I'm sure.Oops. I guess I didn't make it clear. I'm reading HP now, not LOTR. I also reading the Corellian Trilogy right now. It's better not to talk about that one though.

It didn't.
Weird huh? I wanted to read the 2nd Harry Potter book to know what
happensC'PiPrincess Buttercup's Castle of Mayhem
next, but I don't really care what happens next in LOTR.
I wanted to read the second HP book after I finished the first one but
I started reading something else and just didn't bother buying it. People tell me they're good books. The first book has been too lacking in detail for my taste. My son loves them. He has read each one two or three times by now.
