Eric StevensWell, in this case the references was in content of the articles too. Creating a new or, in this case modified subject is merely an aid or service to the reader. To keep things sorted 'n stuff...

Silly me. I thought a thread was a series of articles with references in their headers to others. And that the original article would have no such references...

The references are but a tool to enable management. What is and what is not a thread is in the mind of the reader. In my mind, a new subject is a new thread, irrespective of it's ancestry.
