Which is a shame.

I don't think that a business feels that optimizing profitability is a "shame".

Sandman
I never said it was.

Tony Cooper
When you deny something, do try for some plausibility.

I'll give you one million dollar if you can quote me saying that it's a shame if a business wants to optimizie its profitability. One million dollars, just for you.

I'm waiting (not really).

Sandman
And you still think they're operating at maximum capacity with regards to profatibility and return of investment? Haha!

Tony Cooper
To use your words, "I never said it was". I have no inside information about Colonial's financials. I've never seen their P&L. While you think that it's a "shame" they don't discount accessories, I don't.

I'm not interested in what you think. About anything.

I've done a lot of price modeling and know that reducing margins requires an increase in unit sales to retain profitability.

Captain obvious strikes again.

The question would be about how many additional units could be sold if the margin amount is lowered and how to go about creating the demand for those additional units. I don't think Don, with 60 years of experience in the market, needs my input or your input in this.

He hasn't received any input from either of us, so it's a moot point.

WTF, you're the one that talked about building/buying a different store, remember? Why can't you read English??

Tony Cooper
Wait, now! So "flesh out" means moving to a different location?

Why, did you use it to mean that? I sure as hell didn't. You were the one talking about moving to a different location, not I, so if the phrase "flesh out" was in relation to moving the store, it must have been said by you.

From context it seemed you meant to expand the department's space.

Only if you can't read English - so naturally.

Since the present store size is fixed, expansion of one department's space requires contraction of another department's space.

But you weren't talking about that in the paragraph to which I responded, which you had known if you knew how to read and comprehend English.

What, exactly, does this "flesh out" mean in your odd version of English?

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/flesh+out

You should have looked at the representation of the store layout. You wouldn't have to ask another stupid question.

Sandman
Why - you said it wasn't to scale, so for all I know - you're claiming that the hobby part makes up less than 1% of the store layout.

Tony Cooper
What has scale to do with a representation showing which products are displayed in which areas of the store? You just babble sometimes.

I respond in kind. You say stupid things and I play along with you being stupid. Act like an adult and I'll treat you like one and talk to you like one.

I do thank you for the laughs you've provide along the way...sticking with "capacity" and "flesh out" and mistaking "return on investment" with "return of investment". The latter mistake exposes your lack of knowledge about business.

This is what you have been reduced to, a poor child on the floor trying to find the slightest mistake and make it as big as possible and working as hard as possible to avoid what is actually being said.

Also, I see you've adopted the Clinton defense for your gaffe in "the loop". Quite amusing.

I bet your fantasies amuse the hell out of you. I'd even feel a bit sorry for you if the shit you make up on the fly would also make you sad.
