I never said anything about *preventing another script* from targeting the window.

Snit
You were clearly and obviously completely confused. See above.

Octavian W. Lagrange
Wrong. You were, and *still are*, completely confused.

The point is that you want *your script* to target the *correct* window.

Snit
Sure. And they did.

Octavian W. Lagrange
Only if by "correct window" you mean "any window will do, so long as it's on top."

Steve Carroll
Bbbbbut it was the one he wanted.

Octavian W. Lagrange
Yeah, I anticipated his responding in that way, and actually had typed out a rebuttal in advance, then got bored with it figuring he would not understand it anyway.

LOL! Keep in mind you are the one who keeps (STILL) referring to the windows of the SCRIPTS when you mean the terminal windows.

As far as me, you keep saying I am wrong... but I am the one who told you, from your very first asking, that "window 1" referenced the top-most window:

Owl: ----- I ask this because it appears that you are just instantiating Terminal and looping with actions on "Window 1" Help me understand that applescript: What part of the loop starts a new terminal so that "window 1" makes sense as referring to a different terminal? -----

Snit: ----- When you tell it do to a new command it does it in a new window by default. I can also, I think, send commands to specific windows. Window 1 is the top window on the stack. -----

Your game now is to go on and on and on and on and on pretending I did not know that window 1 is the top window and, gasp, if another window is moved to the top then that changed which window is referenced by "window 1"!
