With the size of the SJ the Face-Huggers we've seen look far to small to

get

hold of the face of the SJ

Animal Hour
They originally designed the facehugger to be bigger. It would have

covered

Kane's entire head, not just his face. (It also would have been longer.) Perhaps the original dimensions were meant to match the size of the Space Jockey.

Anway, the actual size works fine. I think the hugger is big enough to

cover

the SJ's mouth and nose. (It doesn't have to cover the eyes.)

Also, even if the legs aren't long enough for a good grip on the SJ's

large

head, it doesn't matter. The tail is long enough to wrap around the

jockey's

neck and cause unconsciousness. Once the jockey falls over, the hugger

doesn't

need its legs to get a good grip; it can just lie on the jockey's face.

Plus, the hugger's legs or underside probably has suckers or something.

As to what it *is* with the FH, we *do* know it *attaches* itself to tyhe victim...

Remember? When Ash tries to remove it??

DALLAS: Noo.. that's tearing his scalp..." ASH: "I Knooow!" DALLAS: "That's not coming off without taking his face off with it."
